Confirmed Chelsea team vs Brentford: Huge call as Malang Sarr makes debut, N'Golo Kante starts

Thomas Tuchel has made a number of changes to his Chelsea side as they face Brentford in a west London derby in the Premier League this evening and one of those is a Premier League debutant.

Malang Sarr is named in the starting eleven by Thomas Tuchel for the first time in the absence of both Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger. The German is not in the squad after suffering a back injury while Silva's late return from international duty rules him out.

Trevoh Chalobah starts his second Premier League game in a row and he is joined by debutant Sarr and Andreas Christensen in the back three.

Cesar Azpilicueta at right wing-back with Reece James on the bench despite Tuchel saying he would be ready to start if needed. Ben Chilwell keeps his place ahead of Marcos Alonso on the opposite side.

In midfield, N'Golo Kante returns after his period of self-isolation and he is joined by Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who makes a second straight start in the Premier League.

There is no place for Jorginho in the midfield as Mateo Kovacic keeps his place. Mason Mount is also named on the bench alongside the Italian.

As confirmed by the head coach in his pre-match press conference, Romelu Lukaku is fit enough to start and will lead the line against the Bees.

The Belgian frontman will be supported by Timo Werner in what appears to be a front two. Werner has hit three goals in his last two games for club and country.

As expected and as per usual, Edouard Mendy lines up in goal for Chelsea.

Chelsea team: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Christensen, Sarr, Chilwell; Kante, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Werner, Lukaku.
