Confirmed Chelsea side vs Juventus: Ziyech and Pulisic start, Mount benched, Havertz ruled out

Thomas Tuchel has made two changes to his Chelsea side for tonight's Champions League group stage clash against Juventus at Stamford Bridge.

A single point will be enough for the Blues to qualify for the knockout stage. But to leapfrog the Old Lady and move into top spot in Group H, a victory with a winning margin of more than two goals is required.

In goal for Chelsea, unsurprisingly, is Edouard Mendy. The Senegal international will be hoping to maintain his hugely impressive record in Europe; he has only conceded four goals in the competition since joining from Rennes in the summer of 2020.

The back three is unchanged despite Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen being available. Trevoh Chalobah is expected to take up his place on the right of the defence. Thiago Silva will occupy the central role. And Antonio Rudiger will start once more on the left.

Tuchel has underlined the importance of Reece James and Ben Chilwell to his 3-4-3 system as both are included in the side. James is at right wing-back and Chilwell is on the opposite flank.

N'Golo Kante maintains his spot after producing his most impressive display of the campaign against Leicester. Jorginho, who didn't complete the 3-0 victory at the King Power, is also fit enough to start.

The changes made by Tuchel have come in the front line. Callum Hudson-Odoi remains in the side – his seventh successive start in all competitions – but Mason Mount has dropped to the bench and Kai Havertz is ruled out with a hamstring problem. In their places come Christian Pulisic, who scored at the weekend, and Hakim Ziyech.

There is a return to the Chelsea squad for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian hasn't featured since October 20 due to an ankle injury sustained against Malmo and could be given the final few minutes of the contest depending on how the game is poised.

Chelsea: Mendy; Chalobah, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell; Ziyech, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea substitutes: Kepa, Bettinelli, Alonso, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Sarr, Barkley, Mount, Saul, Loftus-Cheek, Lukaku, Werner,
