Confirmed Chelsea line-up vs Man City – Kepa handed rare start, Timo Werner leads the attack

Thomas Tuchel has named Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal for Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester City.

The Spaniard has been between the posts in the previous four rounds and despite a spot in the final being at stake, Thomas Tuchel has placed his faith in the world's most-expensive goalkeeper rather than sticking with first-choice Edouard Mendy.

Kepa has featured three times under Tuchel since the German coach's appointment at the end of January and has kept clean sheets in those appearances.

Ahead of the Spain international in defence is Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger. Andreas Christensen is ruled out due to injury while Kurt Zouma is on the bench.

Tuchel has opted to keep faith with the same wing-back duo who started against Porto on Tuesday night. Reece James on the right and Ben Chilwell the left.

In midfield, Jorginho is paired with N'Golo Kante. Mateo Kovacic is not in the squad as the Croatian star suffered a hamstring injury in training on Monday.

Billy Gilmour is on the substitutes' bench and will be hoping to be given a rare outing.

Mason Mount has established himself as one of Tuchel's guaranteed starters and is once again included in the side.

Hakim Ziyech has been brought back into the starting XI, meanwhile, and there is also a start for Timo Werner, who has struck just one goal since the arrival of Tuchel.

There is no Tammy Abraham in the match-day squad, as football.london reported early this morning.

The England international is the club's top scorer this season and the leading scorer in the FA Cup.

Chelsea: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell; Ziyech, Werner, Mount

Chelsea substitutes: Caballero, Alonso, Emerson, Zouma, Gilmour, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Giroud
