Bristol now has more than 160 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The latest regional figures, released this afternoon (April 4), show Bristol has 166 cases, an increase of 10 from yesterday's 156.

While in South Gloucestershire there has been an increase of 9 cases, taking the total to 113.

North Somerset has seen new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 66, while Bath and North East Somerset now has 58 confirmed cases.

So far 30 people in Bristol are known to have died in hospital with coronavirus.

To cope with the increasing demand of cases a conference centre at UWE is being turned into a 'Nightingale Hospital'.

Meanwhile Bristol City Council issued guidance on Saturday afternoon after receiving numerous reports that parks were 'very busy'.

Police have been busy patrolling beauty spots and parks across the Bristol area to enforce lockdown conditions – on what is expected to be the warmest weekend of the year so far.

People have been urged to adhere to government restrictions and stay at home rather than venture out in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.
