Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Wolves: Mesut Ozil starts but Nicolas Pepe dropped

Mesut Ozil will make his second start of the Premier League season with Arsenal boss Unai Emery set to deploy a diamond to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.

That means there is no room in Emery's starting XI for Nicolas Pepe with the Ivorian relegated to the bench as Arsenal field a midfield quartet of Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Dani Ceballos and Ozil behind Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos start at the back for Arsenal whilst Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers are the full-backs,

Emery had already confirmed that club captain Granit Xhaka was not part of his matchday plans six days after he goaded supporters on his way off the pitch after being substituted in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

"We need time to recover the normality in him and for us," Emery said. "It's not in my mind that he will play tomorrow.

"Now we need to focus 100% on the match. Now we are going to train and at the moment he is not in my mind."

Confirmed Arsenal XI: Leno; Chambers, Luiz, Sokratis, Tierney; Guendouzi, Torreira, Ceballos, Ozil; Lacazette, Aubameyang
