Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Standard Liege: Hector Bellerin captains Gunners

Hector Bellerin will captain Arsenal on his first start since returning from his ACL injury after being named as a starter against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

As football.london reported on Monday, the Spanish right-back is in the Arsenal starting XI for the first time since January having played 15 minutes last week.

Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney continue their recovery from injury with starts in the second Europa League game for Unai Emery's side.

Significantly there is no place in the side for Mesut Ozil with Dani Ceballos, Lucas Torreira and 'Joe Willock making up his midfield. Ainsley Maitland-Niles gets a start in his preferred right wing role with Reiss Nelson on the other flank.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been rested and his place in the side is taken by Gabriel Martinelli.

Emery is without Emile Smith Rowe, who is expected to be out until after the international break after suffering a concussion in last week's 5-0 EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest. Alexandre Lacazette is also sidelined as he recovers from an ankle injury.
