Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Southampton as Aubameyang left at home due to disciplinary reasons

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left at home for the Premier League match against Southampton due to a "disciplinary breach".

Aubameyang was on the bench for the defeat against Everton and missed a late opportunity in the closing stages of the game as his form struggles continued.

He was expected to be in contention for the match against Southampton, but was not included in the matchday squad after missing training on Friday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said:

"Unfortunately (Aubameyang isn’t playing) due to a disciplinary breach.

"I think we’ve been very consistent, there are some non-negotiables on the team that we have set ourselves and as a club and he’s not involved.

"This certainly isn’t an easy situation, we don’t want our club captain to be in that situation."

Meanwhile, the Gunners are unchanged from the match at Goodison Park with Granit Xhaka keeping his place in midfield alongside Thomas Partey.

The substitutes bench includes an array of attacking options including the returning Emile Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal XI vs Southampton: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Xhaka, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Lacazette.

Subs: Okonkwo, Holding, Soares, Tavares, Maitland-Niles, Lokonga, Smith Rowe, Pepe, Nketiah.
