Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Real Madrid: Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang start as Hazard faces Gunners

Unai Emery has handed starts to Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a near full strength Arsenal side to take on Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup.

Joe Willock is the sole youngster in Emery's starting XI to take on the Spanish giants whilst Sead Kolasinac is given a rare berth as a starting left-back, up against Lucas Vazquez.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles plays on the other flank whilst up front Emery deploys the same quartet he used against Bayern Munich.

Emery had indicated that his line-up against Real Madrid would offer a clearer indication of his plans for the opening game of the Premier League season away to Newcastle United on August 11.

"I want to take more minutes with the players thinking about our progress for the first match against Newcastle," he said.

"But also, we are going to use some young players at the beginning or during the match to continue trying with this difficult capacity against Real Madrid."

Lucas Torreira, Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi will all return to contention before the start of the season, though the latter could run out of time to build his fitness as his three week break only ends days before the season opener.

Meanwhile Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has named a near full strength side, with summer signing Eden Hazard lining up against his former foes from his Chelsea days.

Arsenal XI:  Martinez; Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Sokratis, Kolasinac; Willock, Xhaka; Aubameyang, Ozil, Mkhitaryan; Lacazette

Real Madrid XI: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Nacho, Mendy; Kroos, Modric; Vazquez, Benzema, Hazard; Jovic
