Mikel Arteta has named a rotated Arsenal squad for their Premier League meeting with Norwich as both Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka are on the bench.
Eddie Nketiah also remains on the bench in place of Alexandre Lacazette, who the head coach praised heavily after the Gunners' FA Cup win at Bramall Lane.
"You know at this club, you're going to have competition in your position," Arteta said on Lacazette after his performance at Sheffield United.
"But just look at the work he did the other day [at Sheffield United]. It was incredible, I showed them all the clips, the way he goes to press and the way he linked up, the penalty he got for us and his attitude was really good so I was really happy with him again."
The Spaniard has decided to keep the back three shape that he used in the Southampton and Sheffield United wins as Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Sead Kolasinac start ahead of Emi Martinez.
Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are the wing-backs and Dani Ceballos will partner Granit Xhaka in midfield.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to captain the side to the left of Lacazette whereas Reiss Nelson comes in to make his first start since football resumed in June.
The real positive ahead of kick off, however, was the confirmation that Saka had signed a new long-term contract with the club which is understood to be until 2024.
“London is my home. Arsenal my team," he tweeted.
“I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension I love playing for this club and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.. The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream God is Great !!”
