Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Granit Xhaka returns, Aubameyang and Luiz start

Unai Emery has named a remarkably strong Arsenal side to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in a Europa League tie where the Gunners need only a draw to qualify for the latter stages.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are among the senior players handed starts with Calum Chambers and Kieran Tierney at wing-back.

Meanwhile Granit Xhaka will play at the Emirates for the first time since swearing at supporters whilst being substituted in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last month.

Unai Emery had indicated that Xhaka would return to the squad for the first time since he was stripped of the captaincy.

A draw is enough to send Arsenal through whilst Frankfurt's fate will not be decided this week as they vie with Standard Liege and Vitoria for a way out of Group F.

Arsenal won 3-0 in Germany in the first round of group stage fixtures but the result did not reflect a hard-fought encounter, as Shkodran Mustafi noted.

Unai Emery: Granit Xhaka could play against Frankfurt

"You noticed from the beginning in Frankfurt that they're a team with identity," he said. "You could see what they were trying to do and how they were trying to play. The players knew what to do, how they were moving and it's always difficult to play against very organised teams like that and they have the individual quality to hurt you as well.

"You can tell their idea of the game and how they want to play. Nothing is random, they're very coordinated. Even if you know how they play, you can't always anticipate it as a defender. If you anticipate their attacking moves, you may open up different spaces for them to capitalise on.

"It's a team with attacking strengths so you have to be focused for 90 minutes. They don't hog possession without gaining any space. They're very organised on the ball and want to get it back as soon as possible. It's hard to play against teams like these. It's not easy."

Arsenal XI: Martinez; Mustafi, Luiz, Sokratis; Chambers, Xhaka, Willock, Tierney; Martinelli, Aubameyang, Saka
