Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Crystal Palace as David Luiz starts and Thomas Partey returns to squad

David Luiz starts ahead of Pablo Mari in Arsenal's Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta makes two changes from the Gunners last league encounter.

Luiz comes in for Mari in the centre of defence with the Spaniard absent due a tight calf having established a strong understanding with Rob Holding, while left-back Kieran Tierney is rested as a precaution after having muscle tightness.

They are the two alterations from the team that beat West Brom 4-0 in the Premier League on January 2 with Arteta then having experimented slightly in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Newcastle on Sunday.

Midfielder Thomas Partey returns to the squad after his month-long absence, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles also starts due to Tierney missing out, although it's unclear as to whether the utility man will line up at right or left-back.

Meanwhile, Willian, Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah make up a strong substitutes bench alongside Partey.

Arsenal XI vs. Crystal Palace: Leno; Bellerín, David Luiz, Holding, Maitland-Niles; Xhaka, Ceballos; Saka, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang; Lacazette.

Arsenal subs: Runarsson, Gabriel, Cedric, Chambers, Willock, Partey, Willian, Pepe, Nketiah
