Confirmed Arsenal XI vs Brighton: Nicolas Pepe still on the bench as Bellerin and Torreira start

Freddie Ljungberg has made three changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Norwich, restoring Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Hector Bellerin to the Arsenal defence to take on Brighton and Hove Albion.

Matteo Guendouzi has also dropped out of the starting line-up having played more minutes this season than any player bar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Lucas Torreira partners Granit Xhaka in midfield whilst the front four remains unchanged.

That means Joe Willock is expected to start as the No.10 in a 4-2-3-1 with Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil occupying the flanks. Nicolas Pepe remains on the bench.

Dani Ceballos (hamstring) is sidelined until later this month at the earliest.

Ljungberg on fixing Arsenal's defence

Ljungberg's side are without a win in eight games and their interim head coach expects a stern challenge from a Brighton side battling to move clear of the relegation zone.

"They look good, they change formations a lot, so we will see what they come with," Ljungberg said. "They try to play out, defend well, they look very organised but for me we need to concentrate on our own game.

"We play at home so I take into account how I think they will play but I have to develop the gameplan how we want to play football and that’s what I try to concentrate on."

Arsenal XI: Leno; Bellerin, David Luiz, Sokratis, Kolasinac; Torreira, Xhaka; Aubameyang, Willock, Ozil; Lacazette
