Confirmed Arsenal XI as Smith Rowe starts but Saka and Tierney miss out

Emile Smith Rowe starts for Arsenal against Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.

The midfielder is joined in a frontline which includes Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette.

Kieran Tierney (tight calf) and Bukayo Saka (sore hip) miss out due to injury, but there is a place on the substitutes for new signing Martin Odegaard whose loan arrival from Real Madrid was confirmed this week.

Martinelli replacing Saka is the only change Mikel Arteta has made from the team that won 3-1 at Southampton with his defence and two holding midfielders remaining unchanged.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's absence was confirmed on Friday as the striker returned to England on Wednesday after travelling abroad to support his unwell mother and now must quarantine.

Whereas the Gunners XI is settled, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made five changes to the XI that lost 2-1 at home to Sheffield United in midweek with Edinson Cavani, Victor Lindelof, Fred, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay coming into the team.

Arsenal XI vs Manchester United: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Luiz, Cedric, Xhaka, Partey, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe, Pepe, Lacazette; Subs : Rúnarsson, Gabriel, Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Willock, Odegaard, Willian, Nketiah
