Arsenal are back in action this evening when they take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
The Gunners' cup form has been the shining light on their otherwise disappointing season. Mikel Arteta's men are currently 15th in the Premier League but they won their Europa League group with a 100% record and could still reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with what would be a surprise win over Pep Guardiola's men this evening.
Arsenal are on a run of seven Premier League games without a win, leaving Arteta under real pressure despite being early in his reign as Gunners boss.
The Spaniard needs results and fast, and this fixture with Man City, as well as the Premier League meeting with Chelsea on the weekend, could be pivotal as he looks to keep his job.
But Arteta will not be helped by a number of injury issues, starting with star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is likely to miss the Man City clash with a calf issue.
Arteta said after the Everton defeat: "Yes, we want him as quick as possible he has a small strain. We need a few days. I don’t know if it’s a week or two weeks.
"It will depend how the injury evolves."
Thomas Partey is also likely to miss out, while Granit Xhaka remains suspended and Gabriel Magalhaes returns from his one-match ban.
