Confirmed Arsenal line up: Mesut Ozil, Sokratis and Lucas Torreira out; Joe Willock starts

Mesut Ozil has missed out on selection for Arsenal's final Premier League game of the season with Unai Emery having named a rotated side for the visit to Burnley.

Ozil was not among the  squad that travelled north on Sunday morning, continuing Arsenal head coach Emery's habit of eschewing the club's highest-earning player in away games.

He is not the only high profile option Emery has done without. Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lucas Torreira were also left behind in London. football.london understands they have been rested and are not injury concerns for the Europa League Final later this month.

In light of these absentees Emery has named a heavily-rotated side, including a first league start of the season for Joe Willock as the advanced midfielder in a 4-2-3-1.

Nacho Monreal captains a side that also includes Shkodran Mustafi, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Konstantinos Mavropanos in defence.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also in the starting lineup as he bids to win the Golden Boot in his first full season in English football. The Arsenal striker is trailing Mohamed Salah of Liverpool by two goals.

Emery had indicated his intention to rotate his side following the 4-2 win in Valencia on Thursday night, though he knows that Sean Dyche's side will pose a stern test.

"I am going to decide with the players who are hungry and in good physical condition to play this match," he said.

"We struggled a lot here against [Burnley]. I remember this match and I watched it two weeks ago when they drew with Chelsea. It was a very tough match against Chelsea and I’m expecting the same on Sunday in Burnley.

"We are going to play with the idea of imposing our gameplan, our capacity and our team against them. We know it’s going to be a difficult match with long balls, second actions and set-pieces, so we need to defend well in these situations."
