'Confirmation from Liverpool' - Mohamed Salah injury claim made in Chelsea FA Cup final

Liverpool have confirmed that Mohamed Salah has a 'sore groin' after he limped off injured against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Salah went down just after the half-hour mark at the home of English football - despite having no one around him - and was seen clutching his leg. After receiving treatment on the pitch, Salah limped off and was replaced by Diogo Jota.

And speaking at half-time on beIN SPORTS, reporter Carrie Brown reported that Liverpool had told her that Salah was brought due to having a 'sore groin'. Brown also claimed that it would be wrong to write off the forward’s chances of being involved in the Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month.

“Scenes that no Liverpool fan wanted to see, and certainly not Jurgen Klopp, Mohamed Salah going off the pitch and having a bit of a chat with him as well to establish how bad that injury was,” she said during her half-time report.

“Confirmation from Liverpool that it is a sore groin. He was walking fairly unimpeded so this looks like a cautious option. Don’t write off his chances of being in the Champions League final yet.

“That it is an injury you just can’t take a risk on, and the fact the medical team were with him for a little bit of a while, checking how he was, suggests this was a cautious decision. A risk you simply can’t take.”
