A confessed child sex offender faces a nervous wait over the next fortnight as police consider whether to charge him with more crimes.
Scott Ian Whittaker, 38, has admitted to possessing child abuse and exploitation material, as well as failing to properly store firearms.
The Bonner man pleaded guilty to three charges on his first appearance in the ACT Magistrates Court last month, having been granted police bail following raids in Fyshwick and his home suburb.
Police said at the time of Whittaker's arrest in March that officers had found a phone and computer that contained videos and pictures of children being abused.
Two improperly stored guns, later identified in court as rifles, were also located during the searches, leading to the suspension of Whittaker's firearms licence.
Whittaker will need to be committed to the ACT Supreme Court for sentence, but on Monday morning a prosecutor asked Special Magistrate Jane Campbell for a two-week adjournment.
He said police were still investigating Whittaker, and they were likely to decide within the next fortnight on any further charges.
Ms Campbell granted the adjournment, which Whittaker's lawyer did not oppose.
Whittaker donned a black face mask and a beanie to obscure his face as he left court and walked past waiting news cameras.
The 38-year-old is due to make his next appearance on May 17.
