Where to stream 'Conclave': How to watch this religious thriller online from anywhere

Ralph Fiennes in "Conclave" (2024).

"Conclave" was one of the big hits of 2024. The religious thriller brought in over $116 million on just a $20 million budget and racked up numerous award nominations, including eight nominations and one win at the 97th Academy Awards.

So it's unsurprising that many people, including yourself, might want to know which of the best streaming services you can watch it on.

Of course, with the recent passing of Pope Francis, there's interest in the conclave process itself, given we'll soon have a real-life conclave for the first time in over 12 years.

Let's break down what "Conclave" is about and where you can stream it online from anywhere.

Where to stream 'Conclave'

"Conclave" is currently available to rent or buy digitally from premium video-on-demand services like Amazon and Apple.

However, while the Ralph Fiennes movie was originally streaming on Peacock for a while, it's no longer on the NBCUniversal streaming service.

In fact, if you're reading this before April 22, 2025, "Conclave won't be streaming anywhere, as it's already left Peacock.

But starting April 22, "Conclave" will be available to stream on Prime Video.

What is 'Conclave' about?

"Conclave" stars Ralph Fiennes as Cardinal Thomas Lawrence. When the pope suddenly dies of a heart attack, Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with leading the conclave to choose the new pope.

Part of that task involves digging into the closets of each papal candidate to dig up any skeletons that may be hidden within. That includes the four Cardinals that are considered the leading candidates: Bellini (Stanley Tucci), a liberal; Adeyemi (Lucian Msamati), a social conservative; Tremblay (John Lithgow), a mainstream conservative; and Tedesco (Sergio Castellitto), a reactionary traditionalist.

But it also includes Archbishop Vincent Benitez of Kabul (Carlos Diehz), who surprises everyone when he arrives to the papal conclave, claiming that the late pope secretly made him a cardinal.

While this may not be the deepest mystery thriller, you won't care after watching the incredible performance from Fiennes, as well as great supporting performances from Tucci, Lithgow, Castellitto and Isabella Rossellini.
