Concert Square cordoned off after reports of early hours 'stabbing'

A man was reportedly stabbed in the early hours of this morning after crowds flocked to the city centre for the Merseyside Derby.

Fleet Street outside of Lime Kiln, off Concert Square, is today cordoned off after reports of an attack at around 2.30am.

Merseyside Police has been approached by the ECHO for further information.

A witness said door staff from nearby bar Black Rabbit heroically ran to the man’s aid to try and help him.

One doorman reportedly caught the alleged attacker while the other tried to help the stab victim.

The victim's injuries are currently not known.

It is not known if any arrests have been made.

The shocking violence comes just hours after football fans flocked to the area after watching Liverpool’s clinch against Everton
