Osaka prefectural government announced on Saturday that three concert-goers were found to be infected with the new coronavirus after a Feb. 15 show at Osaka Kyobashi Live House Arc in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka City.
About 100 people attended the concert and the Osaka prefectural government said it was possible that a small cluster of patients had formed.
The Feb. 15 evening show went from 6:30 to 9. One of the three infected was a female nurse in her 30s from Kochi Prefecture who was part of the audience. The other two were men in their 40s who were involved in organizing the performance.
Another concert was scheduled to be held Saturday at the same venue, but it was canceled and the location was disinfected.
Meanwhile, nine people across Japan were confirmed Saturday to have been infected with the coronavirus.
In Sendai, a man in his 70s who was aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship was later found to be positive after disembarking. The man became the first person in the Tohoku region to test positive for the infection.
In addition to the female nurse from Kochi, four people in Hokkaido, two in Tokyo and one in Aichi Prefecture were found to have been infected.
One of the Tokyo residents was a man in his 60s who had returned to Niigata City to take care of his mother, Niigata City announced.
