Concert celebrating the music of George Michael to come to Glasgow

A show celebrating the music of George Michael is coming to Glasgow next year.

Following its premiere earlier this year, 'George' will go on tour across the UK in 2020.

Featuring vocals by Rob Lamberti, alongside the National Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, as well as long-time members of George Michael’s original band, the show tribute to the career of one of the most gifted performers of a generation.

From Wham! all the way through the eras of George’s hugely successful solo career, including timeless hits like ‘Careless Whisper’, ‘Faith’, ‘Fastlove’, ‘Club Tropicana’, the show tells the story of George Michael.

The tour will come to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on May 1 next year.

Rob Lamberti rose to prominence after featuring on the BBC’s ‘Even Better Than the Real Thing’ in 2017. Joining Rob will be two of George Michael’s long-time band members: David Baptiste and Carlos Hercules.

Saxophone player David Baptiste performed with George Michael since his Wham! days, while Carlos Hercules performed as the drummer in George’s band for several years, and was the first drummer to perform at the new Wembley Stadium as part of George’s huge show there in 2007.

Tickets go on sale for the concert this Friday (October 4).
