Vulnerable missing OAP who vanished from Glasgow found 'safe and well'

A 'vulnerable' pensioner who went missing from Glasgow has been found 'safe and well' following a frantic police search.

Bernard Murphy disappeared from Hollybush Road in the Penilee area of the city at around 2am on Sunday, September 11. The 83-year-old had not been seen or heard from since.

Officers wanted to hear from anyone who may have had any information on his whereabouts, as they carried out extensive searches and reviewed CCTV in an effort to trace him.

Now, officers have confirmed that the man has indeed been traced, and that all search efforts have been stood down. They thanked members of the public who shared their appeal.

A spokesperson for Greater Glasgow Police Division said: "83-year-old Bernard Murphy, who had been reported missing from Glasgow, has been traced safe and well.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our appeal."
