Concerns growing for missing Scots teen as urgent search launched

Police have launched an urgent appeal for a missing teenager from Johnstone as concern grows for his welfare.

Gary Smith, 15, has been reported missing and was last seen at Johnstone Train Station around 11.35am on Monday morning.

He is believed to have travelled to the Glasgow City Centre area.

Gary is described as being around 5 ft 4, with black hair and was last seen wearing a black/ grey North Face jumper and blue/navy tracksuit bottoms.

Sergeant Callum MacTaggart said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Gary's welfare and want to ensure he is safe and well.

"He is known to frequent the Glasgow City Centre, Paisley and Clydebank areas. We believe he may have taken a train to Glasgow.

"If you have seen Gary, or have any knowledge of his whereabouts, please contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1156 of 21 June."
