Concerns growing for missing Scots schoolgirl who hasn't been seen for two days

Concern is growing for the welfare of a missing Midlothian schoolgirl who hasn't been seen for over two days.

Rachel Lawrie, 14, went to school as usual on the morning of Thursday, May 26, and was seen in Newbattle Road at around 11.50am walking towards Easthouses.

Police are appealing for the help of the public to trace the teenager.

She is described as around 5ft 5ins with long, fair hair. It is not known was she was wearing.

Sergeant Ross Falconer said: “Rachael has been reported missing before and we are concerned for her well-being and would ask anyone who has seen her or knows where she might be to get in touch.

“She has connections in Lanark and in Dunfermline and may have travelled to the Glasgow area.

“If you can help please call us on 101, quoting reference number 1296 of Thursday, May 26, or get in touch with any police officer.”
