Concerns grow for missing Fife schoolgirl, 14, who vanished overnight

A search has been launched to trace a Fife teenager who vanished overnight.

Zoe Ferguson left her Torryburn home sometime between 10pm on Monday evening and 2.30am this morning.

The 14-year-old schoolgirl has so far failed to return home, sparking concerns from family and friends.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have information about Zoe's whereabouts to come forward.

Officers are currently probing one possible sighting of the missing teenager five miles away in the Dunfermline area at around 9am this morning, with officers currently progressing this line of inquiry.

Zoe is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall with long brown hair.

She is thought to be wearing a grey hooded top, black jeans and white trainers.

Inspector Stephen Kay from Dalgety Bay Police Station said: "Zoe knows the South West region of Fife fairly well, and also likes to visit Edinburgh so we are liaising with colleagues in the capital as part of this inquiry.

"Members of the public who believe they may have seen Zoe since late on Monday evening, or know where she currently is, should contact police immediately.

"Likewise, we'd also urge anyone with any other relevant information to get in touch."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 403 of July 23.
