Police are concerned for the welfare of a missing Canberra woman.

They said Reia Hohoi, 35, had not had contact with her family Thursday morning.

She was described as having a dark/tanned complexion, with a medium build, dark curly hair and brown eyes.

"Police believe Reia may have travelled to Queensland, possibly Brisbane or Cairns," they said in a statement.

"Police and Reia's family hold concerns for her welfare, and are requesting the public's assistance to locate her."

They asked anyone who knew were Ms Hohoi was to contact ACT Policing operations on 131 444 and quote reference 6577107.
