Concerns for Falkirk teen grow as mum also 'reported' missing

The worried dad of a missing Falkirk teenager says her mum has also disappeared.

Andy Craig, whose 15-year-old daughter Alex Craig has not been seen since last Wednesday, told the Daily Record her mum Eleanor Herriot is also missing .

He said: "This is dragging on far too long. The police had a location the last two days of Bainsford area.

"Eleanor's not been seen by her family and friends since Wednesday."

He appealed for information on his Facebook last night.

He wrote: "Still missing. Alex Craig and mum Ele Herriott still missing!

"Bainsford area Falkirk is a top priority."

Teen Alex was last seen in the town's Callendar Park area shortly before 2pm on Wednesday, August 28.

She is described as white, around 5ft 2ins tall with long black hair.

When Alex was last seen she was wearing her school uniform which consisted of black trousers/leggings, a white shirt and a black jacket.

She has links across Falkirk, the Redding and Hallglen areas and may have looked to travel to either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Officers confirmed the search for Alex is still underway.

They issued an appeal for information last night.

Alex Craig went missing on Wednesday August 28 (Police Scotland)

Inspector Stephen McLaughlin from Falkirk Police Station said: “As part of our inquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who may have seen, or spoken to Alex, since Wednesday afternoon.

"She may be using public transport around the Falkirk area, however was last seen on foot and is known to frequent the Callendar Park area.

“I would also ask that members of the public travelling across the central belt are vigilant and report any sightings of Alex to officers as soon as possible.

“I’d also appeal to Alex directly in that if she sees our appeal, please contact police, or someone she trusts, so that we can ensure she is safe.”

Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 1899 of 28th August.
