Concerns deepen for missing Canberra man

A Canberra man missing for five months has become a significant cause for police concern.

The missing man is 40-year-old Nathan Booth whose most recent confirmed location was in the vicinity of the Canberra Hospital in June.

"We're concerned about him and his family is concerned about him," ACT police Station Sergeant Mark Rowswell said.

"While he does not always make regular contact with his family and friends, they usually know through the grapevine that he is safe," he said.

Mr Brown is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 179cm (5'10") tall, with a medium build, short dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes.

Police said that by modern standards, Mr Brown leaves a very small digital footprint, which has presented challenges in locating him.

"As such, police are relying heavily on information from the public to determine Nathan's whereabouts," Sergeant Rowswell said.

"Police are also concerned about some misinformation in the community that Nathan has been found. This is not the case, and police are continuing inquiries to locate him.

"Our message for Nathan is to please let your family know you are safe, or to contact police."

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to call 131 444 and quote reference number 6434580.
