Concerning Celtic stat emerges after Bhoys draw a blank vs Rangers

Celtic and Rangers played out a dull goalless draw at Ibrox this afternoon in the first derby clash of the new season.

Brendan Rodgers' men did little to cause their city rivals problems at the back.

Indeed, in the first half, Celtic failed to have a single shot on goal. It was the first time since November 2017 that they didn't have an attempt in the first half of a Scottish Premiership match.

Attention for the Parkhead club now turns to the transfer market ahead of tomorrow evening's 11pm deadline.

Speaking before today's derby, boss Rodgers revealed that striker Adam Idah is nearing an exit amid links to Swansea City: "It's close," he said [BBC Scotland].

"It's not quite there yet, but it's very close, hence why he's not here."

Addressing potential incomings, the Celtic manager stated: "We need a number of players in, not just in the centre forward position.

"I'm hopeful that over the next 24 hours we can get the reinforcements we need in the front line.

"We miss a profile of player at the top end of the field. The guys that are here, it's about attitude. These games are all games of attitude."
