Yes, you heard that right, we're getting another Stardew Valley update. It's been over a year since 1.6 was released, and now, we have official word that 1.7 is coming—eventually.
ConcernedApe revealed the existence of another update during Stardew Valley's Festival of Seasons concert tour on Aug. 29. Just a day later, he confirmed once again that, yes, we'll have another one at some point in the future. There's currently no release date or list of expected features out in the open, but this alone is enough to build up some hype.
During 1.6, Ape introduced several new festivals, winter outfits, the Meadowlands Farm type, and more. Since the update included a range of early-game and end-game content, 1.7 will likely do the same. It was a hefty update full of new items and other secrets, raising an important question: how big will 1.7 truly be?
The potential for this update goes all over the place, ranging from additional character relationship events and revamps to the game's marriage system to brand new locations or festivals. We might even get Summer or Fall outfits to complement the Winter additions from the previous update.
Unfortunately, we don't have any answers just yet. So far, the only information Ape has shared is that 1.7 is happening. Perhaps we'll get daily patch notes, similar to what we had for 1.6. Only time will tell.
We also got another sneak peek of Haunted Chocolatier, Stardew Valley's spiritual successor, days prior, with Ape revealing a screenshot of a character standing within a forest. Although there's no gameplay footage available just yet, he did confirm that it'll have fishing, which I was certainly excited to hear.
