Concern grows for missing 14-year-old girl who did not show up for school

Concern is growing for a missing 14-year-old girl who could be in Manchester or Bury.

Katelan Coates is missing from home in Todmorden in Yorkshire, police said. The teenager was last seen outside the Todmorden High School on Tuesday morning (March 28), but she did not go to school that day.

Officers think she may have travelled to Blackburn, Burnley, Bury or Manchester. Katelan was last seen wearing her school uniform, which is a black blazer, a blue and black tie and black leggings.

She is described as being around 5ft 5in tall and of medium build. In an appeal issued today, West Yorkshire Police said 'there are concerns for Katelan's welfare'.

Officers who are searching for her are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward. Police in Calderdale can be contacted on 101, or by using the 101LiveChat on the West Yorkshire Police website, using the log reference 0509 of 28 March.
