Concern growing for Scots woman who disappeared without her phone or money

Police and the family of a woman missing from Lanarkshire are growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing.

Officers are appealing for information to help to trace the whereabouts of Mary Newton, from Holytown, who was last seen leaving the car park at University Hospital Wishaw, heading towards Glasgow Road, at around 11.40 am on Saturday, May 22.

The 49-year-old is described as being around 5ft 3, with shoulder-length greying blonde hair, blue eyes, and of slim build.

Mary, who lives in Lanarkshire but has connections to Glasgow, was last seen wearing black leggings, a black top, a black jacket, and black trainers.

Police Constable David Nicholl from Bellshill Police Office said: "We, along with Mary’s family, are concerned for her wellbeing and want to know she is OK.

“Mary doesn’t have her phone, bank cards or any cash on her and we don’t believe she has access to a vehicle.

“I’m asking anyone who thinks they may have seen Mary or for Mary herself, to contact us via 101 quoting reference number 1363 of 22 May 21."
