Concern growing for Scot who vanished on dog walk after pet Staffy turns up alone

Police are appealing for help to find a missing man who disappeared during a dog walk in Cumbernauld four days ago.

Scott Lowrie was last seen heading towards woodlands at the rear of Fannyside Road with his pet at around 10am on Saturday.

But the 50-year-old failed to return despite the Staffordshire Bull Terrier being found safe and well.

Officers believe Scott may be wearing odd shoes - one black and one white - and had a green parka jacket on at the time of his disappearance.

He is described as being around 5ft 10in tall with receding short grey hair.

Inspector Neil Macleod, of Cumbernauld Community Policing, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Scott’s welfare and are appealing to members of the public to help trace him safe and well.

“We are appealing for information to help trace a missing 50-year-old man from the Cumbernauld area.

“He was last seen heading into the wooded area at the rear of Fannyside Road and I would ask that if you noticed anyone matching this description or have any information on his whereabouts that you contact police.

“Scott was also walking with his Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog at the time which has since been found safe and well.

“I would ask anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to officers. Scott has also been known to frequent Glasgow Central Train Station.

“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2648 of 30/11/20."
