Concern growing for missing Scot believed to be driving red Mercedes

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a Scot who was last seen in Irvine. Colin McKerrell was reported missing at around 10am on Monday by his family who are said to be 'very worried'.

Authorities believe he may have left in his red Mercedes and are asking the public to look out for the vehicle whose licence plate reads SB17 YLO. Colin is described as being 6ft, of heavy build, with a shaved head and he is known to wear glasses.

He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, grey trousers, blue jacket and walking boots. Police are asking anyone who can assist with their enquiries to get in touch.

Inspector Claire Walker said: “Due to the circumstances, we are growing increasingly concerned for Colin. His family is understandably very worried and just want to know he is safe and well.

"If anyone has seen Colin or his motor vehicle or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2858 of 19 September, 2022.
