Concern growing for missing Edinburgh teen not seen for two days

A frantic search is underway for a teenager missing from her Edinburgh home.

Demi-Leigh McDaid was last seen in the Drylaw area of the city at 4pm on Thursday, March 13.

The 13-year-old has not been in contact with her family since who are growing "concerned" for her safety.

Police have now released a description of the youngster in a bid to trace her.

She is described at 5ft 2", of slim build with long brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit, body warmer and black trainers.

A statement from Edinburgh Police Division reads: "We are appealing for information which could help trace Demi-Leigh McDaid who has been reported missing in the Drylaw area of Edinburgh.

"The 13-year-old was last seen by her family around 4pm on Thursday, 18 March.

She has been out of contact since then and concerns are growing about her welfare.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 2671 of 19 March."
