James is in the early stages of dementia and Northumbria Police officers said they are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

He had last been seen wearing a cream jacket with a white shirt and light blue jeans.

On Sunday morning, an update from Northumbria Police was released which said: "We're pleased to say that 91-year-old James Kemp has been found this morning safe and well.

"Thank you all for supporting our appeal."
