Mayo have been dealt a blow after forward Tommy Conroy picked up a knee injury on Sigerson Cup duty last night.
The NUIG man picked the up the injury just before half-time in their quarter-final victory over Letterkenny IT, and didn't emerge after the break.
Conroy played all 70 minutes for James Horan's side in their draw with Donegal last Sunday in the opening round of the Allianz League, and although the full extent of his injury is not yet known, could be ruled out of their trip to face monaghan this weekend.
"It was a very hard battle but our thoughts are with Tommy Conroy," NUIG boss Maurice Sheridan told RTE Sport.
"We don't know how bad the injury is. It is a knee injury as far as we can tell initially, but I wouldn’t like to speculate.
"I really feel for him. It should have been a free in to us, he was fouled and he injured his leg.
"These things happen, it is winter football and I just want to wish him well and hopefully it’s not too bad. Our thoughts are with him. It puts a damper on the whole evening."
