Concern for man's safety brings Leeds inner ring road to a standstill

Part of the Leeds inner ring road was brought to a standstill this morning over concerns for a man's safety.

West Yorkshire Police officers were called to a concern for safety on North Street, in Leeds, this morning (July 5).

As a result the A64 eastbound between the A58 Clay Pit Lane and Burmantofts Street/Marsh Lane was blocked, with traffic stopped at around 6.40am this morning. A North Street bridge runs over the A64.

Police have confirmed the man is now safe with officers and the roadblock was cleared around an hour later.
