Concern as man walks out of Royal Gwent Hospital at 5.20am and hasn't been seen since

A man who walked out of hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning and who has not been seen since has sparked concern.

Gwent Police has issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of Leighton Bailey, who was last seen leaving the Royal Gwent Hospital at 5.20am.

He had been to hospital for treatment of an injury according to a family member but has disappeared without trace.

Police said they are concerned for the 32-year-old's welfare and are eager to trace him. They believe he may have headed to an address in the Marshfield Street area of Newport and are asking people to keep a look out.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police have serious concerns in regards to the male's welfare. He was last seen leaving the Royal Gwent Hospital at 5.20am on Sunday, August 23.

"It is believed that he may have gone to the Marshfield Street area in Newport."

If anyone has seen Leighton or know where he is, they should contact Gwent Police on 101 and quote log number 78.
