Unemployment payments are once again being made and claims are being processed online, state officials announced Thursday.
Benefit recipients who certified their claims Monday, before the computer system failed Monday evening, will receive payments by Friday, two days later than scheduled, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said.
”Those who were unable to certify or file new claims over the past few days should do so now. Payments can take up to two days to process, so those benefit recipients should expect payments by Monday,” according to an IDES statement.
The computer system was restored Thursday morning and the IDES website was functioning properly again, allowing people to file and certify claims online.
