Completion date announced for £90m Parliament Square development - hoped to become Liverpool's 'most popular address'

The completion date for the £90m Parliament Square development - hoped to be the "most popular address in Liverpool " once complete - has been announced.

The site on the edge of the Baltic Triangle began work last month, and will house 500 luxury apartments across four blocks, with Liverpool City Mayor Joe Anderson visiting the site this week to praise its "quality residential offer".

Now, developer Legacie has revealed that work is expected to be completed by summer 2021 for the development hoped to become the "most popular address in the city".

Legacie Developments said the scheme, which has had "huge interest" from domestic and international property investors, will bring high-spec “Manhattan style” apartments to Liverpool.

Legacie’s founder and managing director, John Morley, said: “We have made good progress and we’re now moving into the next phase by preparing the ground for the steel structures.

"Parliament Square is a flagship development which will help transform a key part of the city and provide a significant boost to the local economy.

“These apartments are being compared to similar schemes in Manhattan which offer the same sort of quality apartment living."

The development will include a public plaza including a restaurant and boutique shops which will open up the area between Parliament Street and the Baltic area.

The main residential block will also contain a swimming pool, spa and state-of-the-art gymnasium.

Mayor Anderson visited the site to officially mark the next phase of work that includes specialist piling work to prepare the ground for the steel structures.

Mayor Anderson praised the scheme, saying: “This is a solid development that is not only creating jobs but provides a quality residential offer. It will have a positive impact on the city’s economy.

"It will compliment the Baltic Area and will help transform the area around Parliament Street.”

According to Legacie Developments, Parliament Square has helped create over 150 contraction jobs including the appointment of 10 new apprentices.

A penthouse at the top of the building which includes its own cinema room was listed on the market for over £1.5m.
