Completely in favour of Mankading, it's in the law: Arjun Tendulkar

NEW DELHI: Goa all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar said that he is in favour of the 'controversial' run-out at the non-striker's end, widely known as Mankading, as it is in the law book of the game. Arjun further added that he disagreed with those calling this mode of dismissal as against the spirit of the game.

"I'm completely in favour of Mankading. It's in the Law. For the people who say it's against the spirit of the game, I disagree," Arjun told CricketNext website.

Mankading has been grabbing a lot of attention in recent times especially after it was made legal by the ICC. And it has received mixed reactions both from the fans and from the former cricketers.

Arjun, son of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, though added that he won't do Mankading himself because of the effort required to execute it for a pacer.

"I personally won't do it because I can't stop and remove the bails in my run up. It's too much effort and I won't waste my energy in it but if someone does it, I'm in favour of it," Arjun added.

Arjun is representing Goa in the Ranji Trophy match against Services in Delhi. On the opening day on Tuesday, the left-arm pacer returned figures of 2 for 27 as Goa bowled out Services for 175 in the first innings.
