The Volcano update is live in the Prospecting Roblox experience, and it's brought a ton of new content, including a completely new area: Volcano Island! Whether you're new or a seasoned prospector, finding out everything about the update yourself can be difficult. So, we created a guide to help you. Prospecting Roblox Volcano Update Summary
- Map Expansion - Volcano Island: Three new areas to explore (Volcanic Sands, Windswept Beach, The Magma Furnace)
- 11 New Ores: All new ores can be found in the three new areas.
- Waypoints: 8 waypoints spread around the map that you can use to fast travel.
- New Craftable Item: Phoenix Wings is a new charm that you can craft with the ores from the three new areas.
- New Quest NPCs: Three new quest NPCs on the Volcano Island. One of them will help you enter the volcano (Fire Priest; all the way on the left side of the volcano).
- New Pan, Shovel, and Sluice: The new best pan, shovel, and sluice are inside the volcano.
- Hourly Events: Four different events that trigger randomly every hour (Meteor Shover, Solar Flare, River Rapids, and Mythic Rift).
- Dig Speed Fix: Dig SPD % bonuses from crafted items now apply correctly.
- New Code: "volcanic"

How to Reach the Volcano in Prospecting Roblox
To reach the Volcano Island (Caldera Island) in Prospecting, you'll need to talk to the Ferryman NPC at the docks near the Fortune River. Once you talk to him, choose the option to teleport to the island, and you'll warp there. The teleport is free of charge, and once you unlock the waypoint, you don't have to use the Ferryman NPC anymore.
How to Enter the Volcano in Prospecting
The entrance to The Magma Furnace (volcano) is located on the left side of the island, looking from the Caldera Island waypoint. There is a hole, and the Flame Priest NPC that you need to talk to in order to enter the volcano. He will give you a quest to find one Fire Opal. Once you deliver it to him, he will cast a spell, and the path ahead will be unlocked.
Where to Find Fire Opal for the Flame Priest
Fire Opal is a Legendary rarity ore that you can find most easily in the Volcanic Sands areas. It doesn't have a lot of competition regarding other Legendary ores, so getting it shouldn't be that much of a problem. If you can, use totems and other bonuses to increase your Luck and the chance of finding it.
How to Get New Items in the Volcano Prospecting Update
There are three new prospecting tools (inside the volcano) and one new craftable item in the Volcanic Island Prospecting update. They are fairly expensive, but they do have stats that are by far better than all other gear that was in the game before it. Here are all of them and their stats:

Important Quest NPCs on the Volcano Island
There are three new quest NPCs on the Volcanic Island, one in each of the major areas. The Ranger gives you a quest that you can complete in the Volcanic Sands, the Paleontologist's quest that you can complete in the Windswept Beach, and the Fire Priest's quest, which we mentioned above, can also be completed in the Volcanic Sands.

Where to find the Fire Opal?
Fire Opal is a Legendary ore, and it's easiest to find in the Volcanic Sands areas. That's the area that you'll spawn in after the ferryman takes you to the island.
Where to find Flarebloom, Cinnabar, and Fire Opal for the Phoenix Wings?
All three of those items (Flarebloom, Cinnabar, and Fire Opal) spawn in The Magma Furnace inside the volcano.
