Complete list Georgia Bulldogs in the XFL’s draft pool

The inaugural XFL Draft will be underway this Tuesday and Wednesday. There’s numerous Georgia Bulldogs who are in the list of eligible players for the XFL Draft. The XFL Draft is made up of five groups, with each group having about two hundred players. The league’s eight teams will have seventy rounds to pick their roster. Overall, 560 total players will be drafted.

There were no Georgia Bulldogs in the first two groups of the XFL Draft, but Group three was a different story with both Trenton Thompson and Jay Rome. Group five had tons of Bulldogs: former New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Legends (AAF) cornerback Damian Swann, former Miami Dolphin safety Maurice Smith, defensive tackle Toby Johnson, tight end Jackson Harris, and tight end Orson Charles.

Trenton Thompson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and played well in his three years at Georgia. He went undrafted after turning professional following his junior season. After the Cleveland Browns waived Thompson he has played on the defensive line for the Alliance of American Football, signed with the Arena Football League’s Washington Valor, and most recently signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

Former UGA tight end Jay Rome battled injuries during his time in Athens en route to catching 38 passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns in his four year career. Rome is immensely talented and had a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers after going undrafted.
