‘Complete insanity’: Trump once again declares war on Tylenol, and the internet’s collective headache is back

Lack of a medical degree has never been a problem for Donald Trump in giving out medical advice against Tylenol. So, the nation’s self-appointed doctor is at it again, diagnosing from his golf cart and prescribing from his imagination.

The MAGA scientist has again taken to his Truth Social to warn pregnant women to avoid acetaminophen, a.k.a. Tylenol, unless “absolutely necessary.” He forbade giving it to young children for “virtually any reason,” and insisted vaccines must be broken into multiple separate visits. He even urged staging the MMR vaccine into three shots, insisting hepatitis B should wait until age 12 or older. Notably, he then added: “Importantly, take the vaccine in 5 separate medical visits!”

“Pregnant Women, DON’T USE TYLENOL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, DON’T GIVE TYLENOL TO YOUR YOUNG CHILD FOR VIRTUALLY ANY REASON… TAKE VACCINE IN 5 SEPARATE MEDICAL VISITS!”

Yes, that’s a real post. Full of capital letters, half-truths, and the reckless confidence of a man whose scientific expertise peaked with “injecting bleach.” Within hours, Tylenol was trending, pharmacists were sighing, and the internet was begging for a national sedative. Trump’s claims have been debunked by enough acclaimed doctors time and again. But we’ll do it for the grandpa again.

In recent guidance, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists reiterated that acetaminophen remains the only OTC pain and fever medication considered safe during pregnancy (via ACOG). It’s well known that untreated fevers or infections pose clear risks to both mother and fetus, something that Trump’s all-caps can’t cure.

While an association between prenatal acetaminophen use and some neurodevelopmental disorders was found in some studies, the evidence isn’t conclusive (via Harvard). Clearly, the self-proclaimed doctor Trump needs to hold his horses before misleading millions of people. But thankfully, nobody’s buying into his medical advice on social media. They clearly announced, “Nobody should take medical advice from Trump or RFK Brainworm Jr.”

Another user had a biting reply to his vaccine schedule, saying, “Five separate medical visits, while they take away healthcare. It’s all so sinister, it’s almost laughable.” Bluntly, one added, “I’m surprised bleach isn’t part of this recommendation.” But the clearest question was: “Why is he posting obviously inaccurate medical information, and why is he posting medical information at all?” But guess we’ll never know.

However, there’s nothing funny about a man who commands a national audience and uses it to undermine medicine. Trump’s fixation on turning science into spectacle has consequences. Millions listen, and misinformation kills. The real headache isn’t Tylenol. It’s Trump and America’s tolerance for his administrative malpractice in plain sight.
