Company looking to hire someone to walk 10,000 steps every day for a month

You've heard of CEO, but what about CSO? A Chief Step Officer. GymBird, a new and innovative fitness company, is on the lookout for its first hire, and they're offering an extraordinary opportunity.

The lucky candidate will have the chance to walk 10,000 steps in a single day and earn a whopping $10,000 in return, as stated on the company's website.

To qualify for this unique position, the chosen CSO will be required to undergo a month-long training program, ensuring they can comfortably accomplish the goal of 10,000 steps per day.

As an added incentive, the CSO will be provided with a smartwatch by GymBird to track their progress throughout the challenge.

Additionally, the selected CSO will be expected to share their experience on social media, posting once a week to inspire others to prioritize physical activity. "By the last day of the month, they must walk the full 10,000 steps within a 24-hour period," stated GymBird in their job offering.

Interested applicants must submit their application by July 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. MST.

The role requirements include being at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident. Applicants will also need to film a two-minute weekly video updating their progress, as well as write a recap paragraph describing their activities, challenges, successes, and overall feelings.

Not only does this opportunity present a chance to earn $10,000, but it also offers potential health benefits.

Scientific research published in JAMA Neurology and JAMA Internal Medicine shows that taking nearly 10,000 steps per day can reduce the risk of dementia by 50 per cent.

The same research demonstrates that for every 2,000 daily steps taken, the risk of cancer, heart disease, and premature death can decrease by 10 per cent, reaching its peak at 10,000 steps.

Ashley Walton, co-founder of GymBird, explains the company's motivation, she said: “Years ago, I was in a severe car accident that resulted in severe nerve damage, and I had to relearn how to walk. So, walking for me is something that I don’t take for granted,” says Walton.

“We really want to inspire people to take the next step in their fitness journey, and walking is a good way to start for a lot of people. And we’ve already received so many really neat and inspiring messages from people, saying that this has made fitness feel accessible and reachable to them.”

If you're ready to take on the challenge and become GymBird's CSO, you can apply now and take the first step towards a healthier lifestyle and the $10,000 reward is a nice bonus.
