A company is looking into the possibility of bringing back a night bus service from Liverpool to Wirral.
While the business said they are not ready to be named to avoid disappointing people, they are looking at preliminary levels of interest in the local area.
Richard Huges, a 37-year-old bus driver from Tranmere, said he has been in talks with the firm after seeing the ECHO's story last weekend and is very enthusiastic about the possible project.

He said: "I know of a company who are looking into bringing in a night bus to serve Wirral, but it is very early stages and they are being cautious to check the level of interest and working with the existing bus companies in the area.
"I have been a bus driver for a number of years now and I know there is an interest in a night bus.
"I posted on the Facebook group Wallasey Gossip to ask if people would use a night bus if it was brought back and it had to be taken down because there were so many comments."
Our story last week said there was an overwhelming 'yes' from ECHO readers to bring back a night bus for a variety of reasons.
Richard said initial thoughts have been centred around an hourly bus from Liverpool to Birkenhead, Wallasey and New Brighton and then circling back to take passengers to Liverpool.
Richard said: "Because it works both ways, it is not just people who have been on a night out who need transport.
"There are also nurses who work in Wirral who can't get back over to Liverpool.
"I have often thought about this when I have taken a coach load of people over to Liverpool and then headed past queues of people waiting for taxis back to Wirral."
There are no firm plans at the moment but if people keep demanding the kind of 24 hour transport that are afforded to other cities, it could be on the cards in the near future.
Richard added: "The company is currently testing the waters before pouring money into it.
"But I think it would be great to get it in place ahead of the redevelopment projects in Birkenhead because then it is all in place already.
"If you look at London they have buses all night, why shouldn't we have that too?"
Last week Arriva, who used to run the night bus, told the ECHO there were no plans for them to bring it back.
A spokesperson told the ECHO: "Decisions to cease Cross River night bus services were made as a result of declining passenger demand and at this time, there are no plans to reinstate these services.
"However, we welcome all feedback regarding our services and timetables, this helps us to shape future plans for our network as well as understanding how we currently meet our customers' needs."
