A company has fired an employee after a video on social media on Saturday showed the person verbally abusing passengers on a train.

The incident, which drew widespread criticism online, involved a transgender woman who erupted in anger after another female passenger accidentally brushed against her bag while taking a seat on Bangkok's Airport Rail Link.

The outburst, which included threats, profanities and insults directed at the woman’s family, quickly went viral and was met with strong condemnation.

On Saturday, Stadium One – The Sports Society issued a statement confirming that the person in the clip was one of its temporary employees. Following an internal investigation, the company announced that her behaviour had been deemed inappropriate and damaging to its reputation, resulting in the immediate termination of her employment.

The swift action was widely applauded by netizens, many of whom praised the company for responding promptly and appropriately.
