Commuters in East Kilbride face delays with road closures starting this weekend

Drivers in East Kilbride are being warned of disruption with vital resurfacing works on Stewartfield Way due to kick-off this weekend.

Delays are expected with a section of the road between Castleglen Road and the A726 Queensway completely closed to allow the work to be carried out. A signed diversion route will be in place.

The works are expected to last from Sunday, March 1 to midnight on Friday, March 13 and will be carried out in two phases.

Diversions will be in place from this weekend (East Kilbride News)

Phase one will be between Castleglen Road Roundabout at Holiday Inn Hotel/Tax Office and Phase two will be at the Hotel/Tax Office to A726 Queensway.

Access to and from HMRC Centre One and the Holiday Inn Hotel will be maintained at all times from one direction.

The work is part of South Lanarkshire Council’s Roads Investment Programme for 2019/20.
