Commuter told she was 'too fat' for seat by man on bus

A bus commuter has spoken of an incident where she claims she was told by a man that she was "too fat" for a seat on board. Laura Loxton said she was told that "seats aren't made for fat people".

She then said that a man of similar size to her sat down on the bus and was not subjected to the same behaviour. The incident happened on the E6 bus in Ealing, West London, reports MyLondon.

Posting a photo of the man she claims made the remark, Laura said: "This lovely man decided to tell me I can't sit down on the E6 because the seats aren't made for fat people and someone of my size shouldn't be sat on a bus. Then a man of my size sat down and he said nothing to him, so attacking women and fat-shaming them is acceptable, is it!? Wanted to shame him for the disgusting behaviour."

Others responded to the Facebook post, describing how they would he responded to the "bully". One person said: "I'd have plonked myself down next to him. Shame on him"

Another said: "I would have told the driver, asked for him to be removed. How dare he?" A different person commented: "He must live a sad existence if this is what he gets kicks out of. Sorry you had to go."
